‘Whatchu Know About What?’ Mystik Remix for Many Names

Keyframe - Many Names Remix Hi friends, so, I just got the invite to do a Mystik remix for my long-time friend, DJ and emerging production powerhouse, Many Names, aka the creator of Keyframe Entertainment and current AltEthos XR producer Julian Reyes. Just got the sample pack and am working on the first mix to share with Many Names for consideration. To warm up, I setup a track with only vocal samples to draw on for inspiration. Initially that track turned out a bit in the tech house genre. For this one, where Iboga Records is the source label from the original release, I'm trying…

2021 Mid-Year Demo

Mystik-Metamorphosis Halfway through the year already! I have been on a production tear lately. Mostly trying to learn my gear really well. Lately it's been using the Synthstrom Deluge since I'm about to go on a roadtrip and want to feel comfortable with just that. The game consists of an android explorer and drone assistant exploring various exoplanet environments. We're also excited…

Performing Rights Organizations vs Distributors

Ok, so one of my band's Mystik Luminate have just been asked to register for either ASCAP or BMI in order for our label manager to register us for our latest release's performance royalties. This is leading me & my brother to start discussing & investigating which performing rights organization (or PRO) to use... BMI is free, where as ASCAP has a $50 fee for songwriting & also for publishing... Or so it seems according to this video I just found which discusses a bit more about them, including how they differentiate for publishing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bvum75E14Jk COUNTER ARGUMENT Aaaand for a…
