2021 Q3 Fall ‘Rediscovery’ Mix
Here is a quick sampling of a rough studio mix of some mostly new compositions since Summer 2021. A few were inspired by my recent Southwest tour with my brother Dave and studio sessions we had in Austin, TX. Some were also written after the Renegade Burn (nonBurn?) this year that was held on the Black Rock Desert despite no official organization or support. Also, there are two tracks in here from some recent game music explorations I have done, submissions for the adventure game Exo: Into Starlight by Superframe Media. Lest I forget, I have also included parts from…
Mystik Groovebox Showdown! Which is the Best? My favorite is…
All of them! LOL! But, keep reading if you want to know which one individually takes the crown. Also, let's all acknowledge this is totally subjective. Everyone will have their own experiences. These are obviously insights drawn from my experiences. They're based on a bunch of criteria, mostly use cases. Actual use cases, tangible experience and general utility as well as looking at the overall facility as an "all-in-one production" studio. ‘Whatchu Know About What?’ Mystik Remix for Many Names
Hi friends, so, I just got the invite to do a Mystik remix for my long-time friend, DJ and emerging production powerhouse, Many Names, aka the creator of Keyframe Entertainment and current AltEthos XR producer Julian Reyes. Just got the sample pack and am working on the first mix to share with Many Names for consideration. To warm up, I setup a track with only vocal samples to draw on for inspiration. Initially that track turned out a bit in the tech house genre. For this one, where Iboga Records is the source label from the original release, I'm trying…
2021 Mid-Year Demo
Halfway through the year already! I have been on a production tear lately. Mostly trying to learn my gear really well. Lately it's been using the Synthstrom Deluge since I'm about to go on a roadtrip and want to feel comfortable with just that. Before that, it was with the Akai Force and using that to aggregate and compose with a DSI Tempest, the aforementioned Deluge, Korg Electribe 2 and ER-1, Yamaha RM1X, Roland VT-3 and Yamaha CS as primary sound generators and a Pioneer RMX-1000 as a master effect. Sometimes into Ableton as multi-tracked arrangements, other times arranged on…
